Success Story

I’m the owner of Forester Beauty in Switzerland and we have been running a webshop under Magento, which was just not up to date anymore. I’ve contacted Dee and he led me through the whole process of migrating our online shop to Shopify, including custom elements to enhance user experience. The whole Project Team at EbizON has a very professional attitude and provide their support and insights promptly. They go above and beyond to satisfy their customers needs and assisted me even during their off working hours and weekends. The Result was great, we now have a state of the art onlineshop and did not have any downtime for our customers, sales have been up by 10% in the first month already and we aim to have it a 25% by mid year. I can only recommend to work with EbizON as they only work with experts in their field and that helps us as clients in the end as they seem to be able to tackle every problem you can think of.

Frequently Asked Questions

FAQ Section

Why migrate from OXID eShop to OpenCart?

OXID eShop is a German enterprise platform with higher licensing costs, a smaller global developer community, and a steeper learning curve for smaller teams. OpenCart is free and open-source, with 13,000+ extensions, a large global community, and full source-code control. Retailers migrate to OpenCart for lower costs, simplicity, and flexibility.

How much does OXID eShop to OpenCart migration cost?

A basic OXID eShop store (under 100 products) costs $1,500–$3,000. A medium store (100–500 products) costs $3,000–$7,000. A large store (500+ products) ranges from $7,000–$15,000+. EbizON provides fixed-price quotes after auditing your OXID eShop store — no surprise costs.

How long does OXID eShop to OpenCart migration take?

A small store takes 2–3 weeks. A medium store takes 3–5 weeks. A large store takes 5–8 weeks. EbizON works on staging servers so your live OXID eShop store stays fully operational throughout migration.

Will my Google rankings drop after migrating from OXID eShop to OpenCart?

Not if done correctly. OXID eShop and OpenCart use different URL structures — without precise 301 redirect mapping, every indexed OXID URL becomes a 404. EbizON crawls all OXID eShop URLs, builds complete redirect mapping, implements 301 redirects for every URL, preserves meta tags, and monitors Google Search Console for 2 months post-launch.

What OXID eShop data gets transferred to OpenCart?

All product data (titles, descriptions, images, pricing, SKUs), product variants and attributes, all categories, customer accounts with purchase history, all orders (paid and pending), reviews, inventory data, shipping rules, tax settings, and databases are transferred. Nothing is left behind.

Is OpenCart more cost-effective than OXID eShop?

Yes. OXID eShop’s Professional and Enterprise editions carry recurring licensing fees on top of hosting costs. OpenCart’s core platform is free, so you pay only for hosting and the specific extensions you need — a meaningfully lower total cost of ownership for small-to-mid catalog stores.

Can I keep my OXID eShop domain after migrating to OpenCart?

Yes. You keep your existing domain. We simply point your domain to your new OpenCart hosting environment during launch. Your domain, email addresses, and all URLs remain the same — enabling full SEO retention and uninterrupted business operations.

Do you handle OXID eShop module migrations to OpenCart extensions?

OXID eShop modules don’t transfer to OpenCart. EbizON audits your OXID modules and identifies the best OpenCart extension equivalents from its library of 13,000+ extensions, covering payments, shipping, marketing, and inventory management.

How much can I save by migrating from OXID eShop to OpenCart?

By eliminating OXID’s licensing fees and moving to OpenCart’s free, open-source core, most retailers see a significant drop in recurring platform costs within the first year. Combined with lower hosting and development overhead, ROI is typically achieved within 6–12 months.

Why choose EbizON for OXID eShop to OpenCart migration?

EbizON has 15+ years of e-commerce migration experience across multiple platforms. Every migration includes a complete data audit, 100% accurate data transfer with verification, zero downtime, full SEO retention with complete 301 redirect implementation, extension mapping, custom OpenCart setup, and 2 months of post-launch performance monitoring.
